Lord JM, et al. (2005) Quality control: another player joins the ERAD cast. Curr Biol 15(23):R963-4
Abstract: The quality control system known as ERAD removes misfolded proteins from the ER to the cytosol for degradation. The AAA ATPase Cdc48p and ubiquitin ligases play crucial roles; their relationship has been unclear, but recent work has shown that the membrane protein Ubx2p links their functions in yeast.
