Kinoshita T and Inoue N (2000) Dissecting and manipulating the pathway for glycosylphos-phatidylinositol-anchor biosynthesis. Curr Opin Chem Biol 4(6):632-8
Abstract: The pathway for glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchor biosynthesis consists of at least 10 reaction steps. Many of the genes encoding the enzymes and regulators involved in this pathway have been recently cloned and their products characterised. These studies have revealed the common and also different characteristics of glycosylphosphatidyl-inositol biosynthesis enzymes in different organisms, leading to the development of species-specific inhibitors of the pathway.
